Our Purpose
Tulip City United was conceived in early 2019 when a group of Holland residents decided it was time for our city to have a soccer team to call its own, establishing a non-profit organization to make that goal a reality. The purpose of Tulip City United is to develop a national level soccer team which promotes Holland’s passion for city and sport, fosters community unity, and grows the number and skill of soccer players in West Michigan. Our club combines two great loves: the love of our city and the love of The Beautiful Game. The Club's Board of Directors are passionate volunteers from among the Holland community. We are in this for the love of the sport and the pride of our hometown, giving our city something universal to rally around and fostering a unique game day experience. Our Values Passion There is a lot to love about Holland and about soccer. Our club will foster an environment that encourages younger players, draws talent, and gives the people of Holland an outlet for their passion. While winning is important, we knows that what happens off the field is also critical. The club will strive to make game days into community events which draw people from all walks of life. Unity Holland is a socioeconomically diverse area. The wide range of diversity can make it difficult to unify the community without a shared interest. Soccer is gaining popularity at a feverish pace in the United States and is the most popular sport worldwide; it can break down ethnic, religious, and wealth divisions like nothing else. A passionate community building a club that represents Holland as a whole will unify everyone involved. Growth As passionate people unite to make the club and the events great, people in the community who otherwise would not be engaged will want to join in the fun. Children who see our players fight and win for Holland will be inspired. With a reputable coach and a supportive fan base, the club will be able to attract better talent to the field. |
