October 3, 2019 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SEMI PROFESSIONAL SOCCER TEAM LAUNCHES IN HOLLAND Tulip City United Soccer Club to host press conference HOLLAND, MI, October 3, 2019: Leaders of the Tulip City United Soccer Club will host a press conference to announce their venue and other details for the 2020 season on Monday, October 28 at 5:30 p.m. at Holland High School. Based in Holland, Tulip City United Soccer Club will begin play in the United Premier Soccer League’s (UPSL) Midwest Conference Division 1 in May 2020. They’re set to host UPSL home games at a local Holland field. The club’s mission is to unite Holland’s rich and diverse cultures in one place over the love of the game of soccer. They also aim to promote Holland’s passion for city and sport and help grow the number and skill of soccer players in West Michigan. Co-founded by Matt Davis (Director of Community Engagement), Rebecca LeClaire (Vice President, Board of Directors) and Trent Ramos (General Manager), Tulip City United Soccer Club is a registered non-profit organization in the state of Michigan and is operated by a Board of Directors. John Dacloush serves a President of the Board. Tulip City United Soccer Club has already begun forming strong relationships with community partners and sponsors. Community partners include the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Holland, Latin Americans United for Progress (LAUP), and Kids’ Food Basket. These organizations and Tulip City United all share similar missions to foster unity, community engagement, and a stronger Holland. Dave Brandt is Head Coach of Tulip City United SC. Brandt currently serves as Men’s Head Coach at Hope College. David Blahnik is Assistant Coach. Klaas DeBoer is Technical Director. Additional details to be discussed at the Oct. 28 press conference.
